The UKAWC would like to welcome you to our website. The
aim of the website is to let you know more about what we do
and for you to share your views with us.
Background
UK Asian women's centre is bonding South Asian women
without prejudice of their Religious beliefs, varying abilities or
skills and age. It plays a vital role to support and shape
women's social capitals so that women can make choices and
changes for themselves, their communities and families.
The UK Asian women's centre does this by building their
confidence, upgrading their skills and enabling them to achieve
economic independance. UK Asian women's centre has been
supporting women in employment for the last ten years and
hopes to continue to fulfil its aims and objectives.
Vision
The centre's vision is to enable Asian Women in Birmingham to
realise their social, linguistic, economic and cultural potential by
providing culturally sensitive services, in doing so enable Asian
Women to realise thier full potential.

Key Aims and Objectives
- To inform, advise and involve Asian Women in Britain on issues which affect them.
- To undertake a programme of activities to meet the needs of Asian Women.
- To act as a national forum as a central organisation to help Asian Women in their dealings with statutory and voluntary agencies including Home Office.
- To support the claim of every citizen to the right to enjoy basic civil liberties.
- To heighten awareness of the needs and strengths of the Asian community
